Sacred Heart College support DeterMND

The year 13 and 14 Business studies students undertook a project management module which focused on raising awareness and funds for a community charity/trust. Dearbhla McDonald, the student project lead said "when we were given the task by our teacher Mr Freaney, one of the first things we had to do was identify an organisation that would benefit from this practical assessment. A number of us had attended the 'Game for Anto' back in November 2014 with our respective clubs, so we quickly settled on deterMND".

The project team organised a number of events to raise awareness and funds including a Christmas Jumper Day and a fun run. 

Anto visited the school last week during the students assembly and received a cheque for £1944.00. The project team had also prepared a presentation of their work, which they showed to the rest of their year 13 and 14 peers.

At the end of the assembly we thanked the team and explained how the money will go towards research into MND.

The students are an absolute credit to their families, their communities and their school.
